I thought it would be a cool idea to compile the 200 greatest songs of New Wave women, 

either as solo artists, or female fronted bands from the New Wave era from the late 70s, 80s and into the early 90s.

There has never been a compilation on this scale to collect such a wide array of 

new wave/post punk female artists.

Hope you enjoy my final selection of many of the biggest records from that period, 

plus there are several shots from the photo session included in the Artwork folder.

All tracks are tagged correctly and in the correct running order of this compilation I have made..

UPDATE ..

When I was compiling New Wave Women over the course of the last few weeks, 

I didn't realise the version of 'Saigon' by Martha and the Muffins I have on the CD release of Metro Music

is not the original single version. 

I actually own the original 7" single which I bought at Penny Lane in 1980 at a special price of only 35p! I always remember the owner (who I knew well) getting upset with me and saying "You shouldn't be

buying a record just because it's at a special promotional price and cheap." I told him I'd heard John Peel play it the night before and thought it was a fantastic single!

Thing is I haven't played it in over 40 years, and always assumed the album version was the same recording.

I just happened to come across it today on YouTube on Scott Davis' Rubellan Remasters channel:

I have to agree with him, that the re-recorded 7" single version is far superior to the album version upon hearing it again for the first time in 41 years.

The single version of the 'Echo Beach' follow up single. This re-recording is much better than the hum drum album version, and has never been released on CD.

I'm wondering if Scott remastered the single for inclusion on his YouTube channel, because it sounds AMAZING, like all his work.

Anyway, I'm sending you this far superior recording if you'd like to delete track # 181 ..

Or keep both .
