A little known and quite rare soul / early disco 1975 album from Dooley Silverspoon:

His only album release, never released on CD, I've expanded the original 7 track album to 16 tracks adding bonus 7" and 12" singles,
all released between 1972 and 1978:

b. Dooley Silverspoon, 31st October 1946, Lancaster, South Carolina, U.S.A.

Dooley Silverspoon was born in Lancaster, South Carolina on Halloween 1946, one of four children.

He started his professional career at the age of 6 in gospel music taking inspiration from such artistes as The Five Blind Boys of Alabama, the Gospelaires and Clarence Fountain.

By the time he was 13 he came to New York on tour which then became his home.

In 1972 Dooley made his first record for the Philly based R&B label North Bay Records.

At that time he was in fact known as Little Dooley.

The single was called '(It's Got to Be) Now or Never' and was produced by Bobby Martin.

In 1975, Dooley met up with his manager, writer and producer, Sonny Casella and they released the single, 'Bump Me Baby'.

In Dooley's own words, 'It made a little noise, opened the door. You really need that.'

He had a few hits in the UK, namely 'Bump Me Baby', 'Let Me Be the No.1 (Love of Your Life)', which were featured on a couple of K-Tel albums, and 'Game Players', which became something of a Northern Soul favourite.

Amongst some of Dooley's favourite artists are Aretha Franklin, the Rolling Stones, The Jackson 5Harold Melvin and the Blue NotesThe TemptationsJames Brown and Marvin Gaye.
